Product features *Drawer Pull* (c. 1936) by Philip Johnson, an American artist associated with the Index of American Design. The original study records a bronze lion-head fitting from both the front and side, transforming a functional household object into a commanding piece of sculptural ornament. Its alert eyes, curling mane, warm metallic surface, and heavy circular ring give the design an unexpected heraldic force, while the paired views retain the precise character of an archival design drawing. Housed in the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., presented in a refined design as part of the Art Movements Collection.
