Drawn from Kyōsai’s Of the Twelve Months series, the artwork stands out for its explosive movement, fierce sword-led action, vivid colour, and the original Japanese text that gives the design a stronger archival presence. Held in the Art Institute of Chicago, the piece brings together folklore, motion, and theatrical intensity in a way that makes it especially striking, presented as part of the Ukiyo-e Collection.
