Product features Kanagawa oki nami ura (1830–1831) by Katsushika Hokusai, the celebrated ukiyo-e master known for bold compositions, graphic clarity, and some of the most enduring images in Japanese art. Better known in English as Under the Wave off Kanagawa, this iconic print from the series Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji captures a towering wave curling above fishing boats, with Mount Fuji appearing small yet steady in the distance. The deep Prussian blues, foaming white crest, and sharply orchestrated movement give the work its extraordinary force, turning a coastal scene into one of the defining images of world art. Housed in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, presented as part of the Ukiyo-e Collection.
