Product features Saitō no Oniwakamaru (1872–1873) by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, a late ukiyo-e master celebrated for dramatic historical prints and intensely expressive figuration. This striking composition captures the legendary young warrior clinging to a giant carp, turning folklore into a scene of movement, tension, and mythic spectacle. The vivid red of the fish dominates the image with immediate force, while the delicate linework and patterned garments preserve the elegance of woodblock design beneath the drama. Housed in the Minneapolis Institute of Art, presented as part of the Ukiyo-e Collection.
